Coalition of Black Male Students
About
The purpose of the Coalition of Black Male Students is to provide the Black male student population at Iowa State with peer support; to build relationships with each other and build relationships with Black faculty and staff on campus. The program consists of monthly meetings where undergraduate and graduate students are all welcome.

Lazos
About
Lazos is a community formed by a group of Hispanic and Latino professors at ISU, in 2016, who identified a gap in their own college experience and decided to do something different for our students. We want to get to know you, the students of ISU. Lazos creates a safe and welcoming space where we can discuss the issues that face Hispanic/Latino men on the ISU campus. By taking part in casual conversations, we want to form bonds between students and faculty, as well as form a network of peers among students that lead to and last far beyond graduation.
Getting Involved
Being new on a university campus can be exciting – and a little scary. There are many new things to do, people to meet, and life details to manage. And so many questions: Can I really talk to professors? Are there other students like me on campus? Does anybody here really care?
That last question is very important – and what Lazos tries to address. We do it by getting to know one another, and developing friendships. To help make that happen, we organize monthly socials. The best way to stay connected is to join the Lazos mailing list.

QTPoC
About
QTPoC is an acronym for Queer and Trans People of Color.
We determined that a space centering QTPoC, outside of the predominately white environment of the larger LGBTQ+ community, was very much needed. As QTPoC, we have to navigate structural racism that our white peers do not. This shared experience is our motivation to bring the QTPoC community at ISU together for a monthly meal in an environment that centers us and the needs of our community.

Unidas
About
Unidas is a space for Latina identifying students, faculty, and staff at Iowa State University. As the largest underrepresented population, we value the opportunity to find unity, community, healing, dialogue, and mentorship by connecting to our community on campus.
We host monthly meetings where we discuss topics relevant to our share experience as Latinas, including self-care, navigating a PWI, and professional development.
